Challenges in Computing in the Age of Heterogeneous Platforms
To overcome many of the power/performance barriers in applications, the architecture community has begun to pursue a path employing heterogeneous platforms. Heterogeneity provides application developers with many options of how best to run their application, but also introduces some additional hurdles that must be overcome to reap the full benefit of these architectures.
In this panel we will discuss some of the challenges that lay in store for us. We will hear from leaders involved with the design and definition of future heterogeneous platforms including embedded systems and high performance accelerators.
